Saffron Hill Farms is owned and operated by Glynis Adams, a life-long resident of Fork Union, Virginia.  Glynis is a York/Poquoson Master Gardener; as well as, certified Sustainable Urban Agricultural and traditional rural farmer.  She grew up on a family farm and learned how to live off the land, grow, and harvest fruits, vegetables, herbs for culinary and medicinal uses from her maternal great-grandmother.  She was trained to identify, collect and use native Virginia plants for a variety of uses - a common practice of Native and African Americans during colonial and post-civil war time periods.

Her Fluvanna County farm - Saffron Hill Farms @ Angler's Pond is a 20-30 minute drive east from the historic plantations known as Monticello (home of President Thomas Jefferson) and President James Monroe's Highland (formerly known as Lawn-Highlands).  At this location, Glynis grows entirely lavender - with plans to release in 2021, crops of herbs, vegetables, aggregrate fruit (blackberries, blueberries, raspberries), and honey.

In addition to her lavender, herbs, fruits and vegetables, testing is underway (off-site) to begin marketing and selling saffron; an exotic spice, wool, Kosher meat and dairy products from her goats and sheep.

Due to the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic, on-site farm visits, small - medium sized learning activites, workshops and entertainment venues were halted.

At this time, Glynis is focusing on sharing her varieties of lavender plants with her customers through spa and bath products - pure lavender essential oil, lavender sugar scrub, body and beauty oils, lavender bath salts, and scented sachet bags.

Glynis is looking forward to opening the farm to the public for "cutting" lavender, "pick-your-own" aggregate fruit; as well as, selling flash frozen berries, farm-prepared jams, jellies, spreads, sorbets, lemonades, ice cream, baked goods, seasonings and marinateds.

In the meantime, enjoy a selection of her lavender products through the online store for curbside pick-up or mail delivery.
